Using AR to make beloved Boise murals dance to the music of local bands.
Mural art has become a defining part of modern urban identity, bringing color and meaning to industrial spaces and turning everyday commutes into cultural moments. But what if these static works could evolve? We saw an opportunity to reimagine Boise’s murals by blending the physical and digital through web-based AR or augmented reality. The Living Murals Project brings murals to life with animation and pairs them with music from local artists, inviting viewers to discover more of Boise's creative community.

The AR experience not only transforms mural art into something interactive, but also promotes a mural artists by linking to their pages, and local musicians by sharing where and when they’re performing during the Treefort music festival.
